When we moved to Bloomington, we didn't know anyone here and we left a home church that meant a lot to us.  It was important for us to find a new church home where we felt like a part of the family and could grow spiritually.  First United is a welcoming congregation.  More than just saying "hi" when you visit, the people here really reach out to newcomers by learning more about them while passing the peace during worship and at the weekly coffee hour after the service.  The church's commitment to adult education was also a big draw for us.  We love the variety of adult Sunday School  classes and small groups available to engage members in important discussions.
