First United Church | An inclusive Christian community in Bloomington, Indiana "Feed my sheep"
Ginny F.

I wanted to attend a church that had a strong women's missionary program and I found it here— both in national and international mission fields. Several years ago, our Church Women's Ministries "adopted" a 7-year-old orphan boy who lives in a Christian group facility near Vellore, India. It is called the Family Village Farm. We hear from him regularly.

WOMEN'S MINISTRIES

Women’s ministries at the First United Church are centered around the Circle of Women's Ministries, which meets monthly at the church for interesting and informative programs and speakers.  All women of the church are cordially invited to participate.

Sarath KumarIn addition to fellowship activities and educational programs, the circles support local, national and international ministries. Among these are sponsorship of Sarath Kumar, a young boy living at the UCC Family Village Farm in India, and the School Kits program, in coordination with Church Women United.

Women of the church are very active volunteers at Opportunity House, a re-sale shop with proceeds going to the Monroe County United Ministries Pre-School.

If you are interested, please contact us or call Ginny Fiscus (336-3592) or Betty Wininger (332-2591).

A Women's Retreat is scheduled every year in the fall.  Watch our announcements page for news of this and other events.
